The GOP’s 11th Congressional District and the Fairfax Republican Committee jointly hosted two candidate forums that featured seven Republican candidates for Fairfax’s 11th Congressional District Republican voters. The event aimed to highlight the seven contenders competing for the party’s nomination ahead of the canvass scheduled for June 28 at Fairfax High School from 9 am – 4 pm. Voters can register in advance by midnight this Wednesday on the 11th CD GOP website.

GOP 11 Congressional District Canvass – June 28, 2025

These forums served as key opportunities for Republican voters to assess the candidate field ahead of the June 28 party canvass at Fairfax High School (9 AM–4 PM). A religious exemption and early voting will be available on June 27 at the Fairfax County Government Center – room #7.

By presenting directly before constituents, candidates hope to distinguish themselves in a race to fill the seat vacated by the late Rep. Gerry Connolly, whose passing in May was followed by a special general election scheduled for September 9, 2025.

Pat Belt of Annandale, VA, reading the July edition of The Fairfax Independent while waiting for the #2 forum to begin. First-time Republican primary voter, and recently joined member of the Fairfax Republican Committee, Pat decided to attend the forum to hear from the candidates directly ahead of her vote on June 28 during the Republican canvass to nominate their 11CD candidates. “This is the most important election I will be voting in because it is an open seat and we need to win,” Pat Belt.
