Rise, Rejoice, and Renew: An Easter Celebration of New Beginnings

Easter holds deep religious significance for Christians worldwide, as it marks the culmination of Holy Week and represents a spiritual victory central to Christian faith. Easter has also evolved to include broader cultural traditions that the community partakes in.

Families across Northern Virginia prepare for Easter, a significant Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The date, which falls between March 22 and April 25, is set for April 5 this year, marking a time of renewal and gathering.

While deeply religious for Christians, the holiday also incorporates cultural traditions enjoyed by others. Many observe the day with special church services on Saturday evening or Sunday morning at local congregations. Following services, families often share an Easter dinner featuring traditional dishes like ham or lamb, along with activities like egg decorating and the popular Easter egg hunt for children.

Here are some Easter & spring‑themed events in our area — great for families, kids, and community fun to kick off spring. Be sure to check the event websites for any updates of these Easter & Spring Events:

We Must Destroy Democracy in Order to Save It!

About fifty years ago the United States was involved in a military conflict in Vietnam which lasted many years and did not end well. There was a phrase from that era – “We had to destroy the village in order to save it” –which encapsulated its own self-defeating logic. We know better than the natives. We must force them to appreciate our values. Fast forward to 2026.
